SkillPlan was honoured to co-host Future Skills Centre’s ‘Insights in Action Tour – BC’ in Vancouver, B.C. in September. Part of a Canada-wide tour, the event focused on skills to drive inclusive growth and opportunities for the future of work and skills development in Canada.
Our CEO Kyle Downie and Workforce Development Director Lovey Sidhu presented on our Pan-Canadian Recruitment & Training System, funded by Future Skills Centre and Employment and Social Development Canada. In partnership with Canada’s Building Trades Unions, all Provincial Building Trades Councils across Canada and Social Research and Demonstration Corporation, this system helps prospective workers who are traditionally underrepresented in the trades learn about the skilled trades and build their skills for successful careers in the unionized construction industry.
