SkillPlan joined the Insulators Union Canadian Mid Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in March 2026, to help kick off the National Training System to Ensure Low-Carbon Building Performance to Reduce Energy Consumption project and to share updates on new mechanical insulation energy assessment training being developed with industry partners.
The national initiative will equip more than 1,800 apprentices and journeypersons with specialized skills to assess the energy performance of mechanical insulation systems and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
