SkillPlan was pleased to co-host a joint event on July 26, 2025, with our project partners Canada’s Building Trades Unions (CBTU) and Future Skills Centre (FSC), to highlight the Pan-Canadian Recruitment and Training System for Canada’s unionized construction sector. This proven, nationwide training system helps attract individuals (including underrepresented groups) to the skilled trades, accelerate skills development and apprenticeship completion and retention, and advance the skilled trades workforce overall.
A big thank you to all participants for joining, including the Honourable Patty Hajdu (Minister of Jobs and Families), the Honourable John Zerucelli (Secretary of State for Labour), Leslie Church (Parliamentary Secretary) and Colette Kaminsky (Senior ADM for Skills Employment), and to FSC, CBTU and IBEW Local 353 for hosting the event at their training centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
We are excited to continue collaborating with all of our amazing partners in this important initiative funded by FSC through Employment and Social Development Canada.
