Another successful Workforce Summit! In June 2026, SkillPlan and Canada’s Building Trades Unions (CBTU) co-hosted the 5th annual Workforce Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, bringing together leaders from Provincial Building Trades Councils and industry partners across Canada to collaborate on priorities shaping the future of the skilled trades.
The summit focused on advancing workforce development for the skilled trades in Canada, with discussions on building the workforce needed to support major infrastructure projects, Indigenous Reconciliation, safety harmonization, emerging skills and technologies, and improving the use of data to measure impact and inform future workforce strategies.
The annual summit reflects the strength of SkillPlan’s partnerships across the Building Trades network and a shared commitment to supporting workers, strengthening apprenticeship and building a skilled workforce for Canada’s future.
